A delegation from India is set to visit the Republic of Yemen during May 28-30, 2010 in order to explore possibilities for forging close business ties with the latter as it is an emerging market for India. During their visit, delegation members are likely to deliberate and discuss areas of growth where businesses from both nations, including SMEs, can join hands, thereby further providing a boost to bilateral relations.

The visit, which is to be organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is expected to help participating members identify areas of synergy and chalk out mutually beneficial policies.

Indian SMEs have ample scope to forge partnerships with their Yemeni counterparts in areas such as energy, infrastructure, transportation, construction, telecommunications and IT.

Sectors such as power, oil and gas, food processing and agricultural products and organic chemicals, among others happen to be some lucrative areas of cooperation between small and big businesses of both countries.

Moreover, with CII planning to ink a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Yemen Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FYCCI), bilateral relations between India and Yemen is set to get a further boost.
