Leading international trade fair organiser Hannover Milano Fairs India, a wholly owned subsidiary of HM Global GmbH, the joint venture company between Deutsche Messe AG, Germany and Fiera Milano Spa, Italy is bringing to India world class fairs targeted at Indian and international companies. As many as five international trade fairs are set to take place over a period of December 15-18, 2010 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. These fairs would act as an ideal B2B platform for showcasing various ranges of products and services alongside acting as a viable channel for interaction among customers.

Benefits of trade fairs

Speaking to a Bizxchange correspondent, Vishnu Mathur, president of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said, “Trade fairs are an emerging trend in the Indian industrial scene today and no one is complaining. There are lots of benefits of trade fairs besides acting as a podium of product display - they collectively showcase the strength and the potential of a particular sector. Besides, the immense opportunities they present to SMEs are countless. Small business owners attending the fairs can forge new contacts with suppliers and prospective buyers.”

In this context, Guru Bakshi, HR executive at Jolly Automobiles, a small-sized Bengaluru-based auto parts manufacturer, said, “Trade fairs and expos witness a huge confluence of people from various ranks of the society and that provide a wide exposure for small companies, which can chance upon suppliers. It is also a good opportunity for suppliers as they can meet and interact with many manufacturers, including SMEs, contact with whom otherwise would not have been much possible.”

The fairs organised by Hannover Milano Fairs India will be across various industries such as automation, material handling and logistics, among others. Participation in such fairs can certainly prove beneficial for small units by enhancing their sources of business generation.
