L&T bags orders worth Rs.1,126 cr

Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Tuesday said one of its units has secured orders worth Rs.1,126 crore for metallurgical, material handling and water sector projects.
 

Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Tuesday said one of its units has secured orders worth Rs.1,126 crore for metallurgical, material handling and water sector projects.
Among the orders are a Rs.300-crore contract from Sterlite Industries to construct a copper smelter plant in Tamil Nadu and a Rs.210-crore project from Hindalco Industries, L&T said in a statement.
The unit - L&T Metallurgical, Material Handling & Water Operating Company - also bagged a Rs.182 crore order from Tata Steel for material handling and a Rs.231 crore order from Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam Ltd for a water project in Varanasi, the statement added.
