Schneider Electric opens four elctrician training centres across India

NEW DELHI: Schneider Electric India(SEI), a specialist in energy management, has opened free electrician training centres in four cities. The Delhi training centre is expected to train 100 electricians in its first year of operation. The Chennai training centre is the country's first women electrician training centre.

The course duration is four months and every batch will have 25-30 students. Every year, each centre will offer training to nearly 75-100 students. Mr Manish Pant, director strategy and alliances, SEI, said, “It is our continued effort to provide skill-based training to the unemployed youth at the base of pyramid. Through our training centres, we aim to train 4,000 electricians by 2012.”
