Indimoto.com, a popular auto classifieds website is aiming to solve Delhi’s traffic woes and aid commuters during the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The website will waive the nominal fee it charges for matching carpoolers from September 13 till October 16 for those posting carpool requests not only from Delhi but from across India. Interested commuters who wish to carpool can register on www.indimoto.com for free and put a carpool wanted ad with their respective routes and timings. Indimoto.com’s recently revamped website maintains privacy of the user’s contact details and verifies respondent’s details to ensure safety.

Speaking on the launch of this new initiative Mr. Udit Bhandari, Founder & CEO of Indimoto.com said; “The Commonwealth Games 2010 will become a nightmare for Delhi’s motorists who will face long traffic jams when the dedicated CWG lanes come into effect from September 20 till October 16. Trials of the dedicated CWG lanes on key arterial roads have already resulted in massive traffic jams and when the lanes come into permanent effect, the congestions will be unprecedented. Mr. Bhandari added; “If even 5% of the 85 lakh-strong working population of Delhi and NCR opt for carpools, it will be a milestone achievement for us and will go a long way in reducing traffic and pollution during this important international event”.
