Babla Mehta's date with Delhi on 5th Feb

As they say, the legendary Mukesh Sahab from the golden era of melodies has left his voice behind, in the voice of Babla Mehta. Truly said, Babla Mehta's striking vocal similarity to the legendary Mukesh is a well known fact. He has sung in more than 250 hit songs of Mukesh, compiled in 10 solo albums, besides 6 duet albums.
 

Delhi 2012: As they say, the legendary Mukesh Sahab from the golden era of melodies has left his voice behind, in the voice of Babla Mehta. Truly said, Babla Mehta's striking vocal similarity to the legendary Mukesh is a well known fact. He has sung in more than 250 hit songs of Mukesh, compiled in 10 solo albums, besides 6 duet albums. 

Babla Mehta is also the voice behind the ever popular song 'Tere Mere Hoton Pe' with Lata in the film 'Chandni'. His other playback successes include hit films like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Tahalaka, Sadak, Jeene Do, Mayor Saheb & many more.

As one of his most recent achievements, the multi-talented Babla Mehta, composed and sang Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee's poems, as a tribute to the great statesman, on the occasion of his 87th birthday celebrations on 25th Dec, at Siri Fort Auditorium.  Babla Mehta set to music, two of the great thinker's poems, namely 'sapna toot gaya' and 'geet nahin gaata hoon'. The poems exploring the depth of emotion in the breaking of a dream and the agony of defeat were performed to melodious perfection. 

Born and brought-up in Delhi, Babla Mehta aims to pay his tribute to the great heritage city in the only way he knows how, through song.  He has composed a song, especially penned down on the theme and occasion of the city of Delhi completing 100 years as the capital of India.

Babla Mehta will be performing live, complimenting yet another form of art that is architecture, at IIA Awards on the occasion of centenary of the capital on 5th Feb, at Siri Fort Auditorium.
