NEW DELHI: The country's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday launched a new version of its best selling model Alto at an introductory price between Rs 3.03 lakh and Rs 3.16 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The new version named, Alto-K10 is powered by a one litre engine from the company's latest generation K-series engines. "The Alto's package of performance, fuel efficiency and attractive cost of ownership have together made it India's most popular car. The Alto-K10 will take this forward," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters here. Maruti Suzuki is looking to advance its capacity expansion plans, Nakanishi said. Its second unit in Haryana is scheduled to come up by April 2012. Nakanishi said the company was working on ways to advance that to an earlier date. |
