Possibly Maybe, Perth, Western Australia, 17th October 2011 It seems the most common excuse these days, (honest excuse of course) for not meeting new people is because we don’t have enough time. It comes as no surprise that dating or meeting special someone’s is getting harder and harder as our lives are getting more and more hectic. With the increasing popularity of Speed Dating in Perth however this could all change. Three seconds is said to be as long as people are taking to make their choices during Speed Dating. Considering no one can realistically argue that 3 seconds is time they don’t have to give, we dare say we can see the appeal therefore when it comes to this new trend. “The first time I was asked to run a Speed Dating event was on Twitter. A lady in her mid twenties had realised I had started a dating website and immediately tweeted did I do Speed Dating. I didn’t think people were overly keen for such events but after some Tweeting to and fro, it turns out her and her girlfriends had been dying to attend some Speed Dating and there weren’t enough events of the kind in Perth!” the Director of website Possibly Maybe Anna Ogilvie said. Anna went on to say “I think the attraction of everyone being in the same boat and mindset that you’re there to hopefully meet someone but do it in this non traditional way is what makes it work, plus the fact you don’t have to find out straight away if you have been rejected or wanted also helps”. It does seem that there is a growing trend in Perth when it comes to Speed Dating as more and more events are being held during the week and on weekends. Turns out that excuse of not having enough time to date may just have to be hung out to dry!
